asked.
Everything people ask before their first class. Still wondering about something? Call, text, or send us a message.
Getting started
I've never done martial arts. Can I join as a complete beginner?+
Everyone starts somewhere! We pride ourselves on having small, focused rooms so you get the maximum amount of instruction available from our knowledgeable coaches. Muay Thai Fundamentals is built for exactly that.
Do I need to be in shape before I start?+
This is the most common worry for beginners, and the answer is simply no. We all start somewhere, and we are happy to help you on your journey to a better you.
What should I bring to my first class, and do I need my own gear?+
Wear comfortable clothes that you can be active in, and a water bottle if you'd like. We have an awesome water fountain to keep you hydrated and to refill your water. As for gear, we have loaner gear you can use until you are ready to invest in your own.
How does the free trial work?+
We have a few options for you. Pick a class on the schedule and choose the "Free Trial" option at checkout to claim your spot. You can also grab the free trial from the membership page. If you sign up for a free trial without booking a class, a team member will reach out to help you finish the steps. Or call or text us at (214) 810-8516 and we will get you set up for a free trial class.
How long are classes?+
Most classes are 60 minutes. Fighters Training runs 45 minutes. See the class schedule for exact times.
How often should I train as a beginner?+
You can train as often as your heart desires (and our class schedule allows). Our most serious students tend to train 5 to 6 days a week. But if you're new and just want to learn, 2 to 3 times per week will be enough to see a tremendous amount of improvement.
Do I have to spar or do fight competitions?+
Sparring and fighting are not required. We want you to train the way you want, to the extent that you want. We have classes and training programs available for those who do want to compete or get a little more contact with training partners in safe, controlled environments.

We have free street parking available at the gym. Just be sure not to park in the fire lanes.
I'm visiting Dallas. Can I drop in?+
Yes! First time visitors can drop in with a free trial class. If you have already used your free trial, we have multiple drop in options, from single visits to class packs that save you a little extra.
Is there a minimum age, or kids classes?+
We don't currently have a kids class, but we plan to add one in the future. Reach out to us if you'd like to hear when it launches. As for minimum age, we recommend students be around 14 years old or older.
Is it safe? What if I have an injury?+
Training is relatively safe. We take many precautions to minimize the risk of injury, but accidents can happen. Our training schedule is also designed to help you build strength and resilience, with classes like Thai Strength & Stretch and Mobility, to prevent injuries, or at the very least to bounce back quickly from minor bumps and bruises.
Membership
Which membership is right for me?+
If you are testing the waters, go Month to Month or grab a day pass pack. Training for the long run? Paying in full saves the most, and payment plans spread the cost while you commit.
How do I book classes?+
Members book right from the class schedule. Pick a class, confirm your spot, and show up ready to work.
Can I cancel whenever?+
Monthly plans that renew automatically can be cancelled anytime and stop at the end of the period. Paid in full plans and day pass packs run for their full term.
Can I pause or freeze my membership?+
Yes, we allow membership freezes. Each freeze must last at least 3 weeks and no more than 3 months at a time. Reach out to us to set one up.
What if spots are full?+
Training spots are limited on purpose. If a class is full, you can join the waitlist from the class schedule and shop the store in the meantime.
